Shri Guru Ravidass Ji, born at Varanasi early in the 15th Century, was a leader of Bhakti spirituality, combining devotion to GOD with equality before GOD of all human kind. He struggled relentlessly against the abuses of the caste system. Ravidassis share with Sikhs worship of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book which includes many of Guru Ravidass' hymns. Ravidassis are deeply committed to social justice and good citizenship.

"He who forsaking GOD, the Diamond, yearneth for other gods,
Shall go to Hell, verily saith Guru Ravidass"

God brings down the mighty and lifts up the lowly.
