A Muslim believes and accepts completely that Islam is not a new
religion. |
|
It is, in essence, the same message and guidance which Allah revealed
to all His Prophets: |
|
"Say: We believe in Allah and that which was revealed to
Abraham and Ishmael, and Jacob and the tribes and that which was given to Moses and
Jesus and to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of
them and to Him we submit" (Qur'an 3:83) |
|
A Muslim believes that the
message of Islam, in its comprehensive, completer and final form, was revealed to
Muhammad (PBUH), the last and final Prophet. |
|
A Muslim is one who
submits totally to the will of Allah and accepts freely and willingly the
Supreme Power and absolute Sovereignty of Allah and His message, and strives for the
total reorganisation of his life in accordance with the revealed teaching of
Allah and towards the establishment of a just social order totally reflecting
the guidance of Allah. |
There is no deity but Allah and Muhammad
(PBUH) is His final Messenger.
In the name of Allah,
Most Gracious, Most Merciful * Praise be to Allah * The Cherisher and Sustainer of the
Worlds * Most Gracious, Most Merciful, *
Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee do worship
* and thine aid we seek. *
Show us the straight way, * The way of those on whom
Thou has bestowed thy Grace *
Those whose (portion) Is
not wrath * And who go not astray.
(The opening chapter of the Holy Qur'an: Surah al-Fateha)
