St Mary and St John Catholic Church opened 1855, completed 1880, a Grade 2 "Early English" Gothic building.
The Catholic Church uses all the senses in Worship of GOD. The Church plan, a Cross, reminds us that Christ died for us all.
Symbols of Trinity - three persons in one GOD: Windows in threes; three candles; triangles and trefoils. The church spacious and lofty: humans small in comparison. Carvings; emphasising the cost of our redemption; Jesus thorn crowned; Our Lady in sorrow; Peter weeping at denying his Master. Everywhere angels: "Let all the angels worship Him".

To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory
and might
for ever and ever.
(Revelation 5.13)
